Bio

Sometime Sunshine is a collaboration between Newcastle upon Tyne musicians Darrin Shaw and Ian Strachan, whose songwriting partnership began in the 1980s.

Originally working with a small home setup of synths, guitar, bass and drum machines, the pair have recently returned to recording — developing new material alongside ideas formed over decades, working alongside session musicians to provide vocals and guitar.

Their sound blends synth-led arrangements, melodic basslines and guitar textures, drawing on influences such as New Order, The Cure and The Beloved, while incorporating modern electronic and chilled dance production.
